Sony loves the character of Otto Octavius, aka, Dr. Octopus, And now some new rumors are pointing towards the fact that he might be appearing in Morbius and he was already in the trailer. So let's talk about this and see if it is at all possible,
In 2019, When Morbius Movie was confirmed, We heard that Jared Harris was cast in a top-secret role. Now, As the Morbius trailer has come out, Reports from the past believe that they've uncovered, Who he's gonna be? This is none other than Otto Octavius aka, Dr. Octopus.
In the trailer, we do see an unnamed character, who is rather an older person and throughout the dialogue in the trailer, he says "How far are we allowed to go to fix something that’s broken?" The answer, the unnamed character says, is "until the remedy is worse than the
disease."
This is, in fact maybe, Otto Octavius talking about struggles that he goes through and what remedy he attained for his own disease.
Considering SONY showed the tentacles in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but they decided to keep him out and build him up for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, which didn't happen. This is the best chance for SONY to bring him up and make him ready for Sinister Six.
Also, MCU wanted him to be one of the members of the Sinister Six and they wanted to use him earlier. But SONY didn't agree upon it. So if he is playing this character, it will get a step closer towards that final goal of having the Sinister Six.
This type of introduction can help the future Sequel like Sinister Six, as they don't have to bring any new character from nowhere without any history. It's a great way for them to give the character some introduction without giving him a standalone film.
Dr. Otto has been pretty much in everything. SONY does with Spider-Man as one of the mainstays, So it wouldn't make some sense and In the trailer, we can see Tyrese Gibson with a robot arm. What, If that's one of his creations?
