**Dahlia in Bloom Production Investigates North Korea Links**

Following a report alleging that production materials for the anime series "Dahlia in Bloom" were found on a North Korean server, the Production Committee has released the results of its investigation.

Typhoon Graphics, the main production studio, initially outsourced work to an unnamed Japanese company. This company then subcontracted to a Chinese company, which in turn outsourced to another Chinese entity. The Production Committee requested a list of all personnel involved from every subcontractor, but one company failed to comply.

Consequently, the possibility that a North Korean company was involved remained open. As a precautionary measure, the Production Committee decided to have the affected anime portions redone by Japanese staff.

Despite the investigation, the anime is still on schedule to premiere in July as planned. It is uncertain whether the subcontractors' failure to provide a complete personnel list is linked to North Korea.

The initial report by watchdog 38 North had claimed that the North Korean animation company SEK Studio, a sanctioned state-owned enterprise, was involved. However, the Production Committee's investigation did not specifically identify SEK Studio or any other North Korean entity.

The incident highlights the complex global nature of anime production and the potential challenges in ensuring transparency in supply chains. The Production Committee's decision to redo the affected anime portions by Japanese staff underscores their commitment to maintaining quality and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
